Hunter Biden Responds to Being Pardoned
Hunter Biden has responded to his pardon in a new court filing.
He informed a federal court that his father, President Joe Biden, had pardoned him of federal tax evasion and gun crimes.
“Joseph R Biden Jr granted me a full and unconditional pardon for, inter alia, the offenses specified in the indictment in this case,” he wrote.
“On December 1, I received and formally accepted the president’s grant of a pardon. I declare (or certify, verify or state) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct.”
The document, signed by Hunter Biden, was executed in Washington, D.C. on December 1.
President Biden announced on Sunday that he had pardoned Hunter, who was awaiting sentencing following convictions for tax evasion and possession of a weapon while under the influence of drugs.
“Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter,” the president’s statement reads. It is a “full and unconditional pardon,” it states.
