Multi-Team Blockbuster Trade Proposal Has Jimmy Butler Land With Clippers

The Miami Heat have officially started listening to trade offers for star forward Jimmy Butler. After Butler requested a trade, Miami decided to suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team.
The Heat have announced that they are willing to listen to offers for the six-time All-Star. But where will he go?

In this trade scenario, Miami moves Butler to the Western Conference, where he lands with the Los Angeles Clippers. However, Miami gets a third team involved to make the deal fully worthwhile for themselves.
After looking at the new CBA restrictions and using the Spotrac trade machine, here is what a deal could look like between the teams. It involves the Heat, Clippers, and New Orleans Pelicans.
Heat receive: Brandon Ingram, P.J. Tucker, a 2025 first-round draft pick from the Clippers, and a 2027 second-round draft pick from the Pelicans
Pelicans receive: Norman Powell, Nah’Shon Hyland, Terance Mann, and a 2031 first-round draft pick from the Clippers
Clippers receive: Jimmy Butler

Why Miami does this
While trading away Butler wasn’t the preferred plan for the Heat, they did pretty well with this deal. Landing Ingram to replace him still keeps Miami competitive and they get a younger star forward to pair with center Bam Adebayo.
Ingram gives the Heat more options and they can always sign him long-term this summer when he enters free agency. Additionally, they land an expiring deal in Tucker that could help their salary cap situation.
Why New Orleans does this
The Pelicans have been looking to deal Ingram since the summer and they get a nice haul in return. Powell can help this team be competitive even if they find themselves sitting in last place in the standings.
But this move helps set them up for the future, netting a few extra first-round draft picks. New Orleans could do a lot worse than this deal.
Why Los Angeles does this
The Clippers land a third star in Butler to pair with Kawhi Leonard and James Harden. Even without Leonard in the lineup, Los Angeles has managed to exceed expectations and have the look of a true contender.
Adding Butler to the mix could certainly help and his defensive presence would do wonders for this team. Los Angeles would be pushed back toward the top of the West as a championship contender with this deal.
