Sofia Vergara Heckles Jodie Foster During Golden Globes Win
Sofa Vergara heckled Jodie Foster after she lost to the actor at the Golden Globes on Sunday.
All eyes were on Hollywood as the 2025 Golden Globes kicked off on January 5, with Emmy- and Grammy-nominated comedian Nikki Glaser making her debut as host. The star-studded event celebrates a year of groundbreaking stories and performances in film and television.
The former Modern Family star couldn’t help but playfully express her exasperation with Foster being named the winner of Best Female Actor in a Television Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Film for her role in True Detective: Night Country. Vergara was up for the same award for her role in Netflix’s Griselda.
As Foster accepted the award on stage, Vergara leaped up and jokingly shouted: “No, no! Not again! Give me one!” Foster laughed and responded: “I know, I know.”

Newsweek emailed spokespeople for Vergara and Foster for comment on Monday outside of normal business hours.
At the beginning of her speech, Foster made sure to mention Vergara and her fellow nominees, saying: “The greatest thing about being this age and being in this time, is having a community of all these people, especially you Sofia.” Proving the heckle was all in jest, Vergara smiled at the fellow actor.
Spencer Althouse, the editorial director at Buzzfeed, shared a clip of the amusing moment to X, formerly Twitter.
“Sofia Vergara just leapt from her seat and shouted ‘No, no! Not again! Give me one!’ as Jodie Foster got to the stage to accept her Golden Globe lol (look at her in the bottom-left),” he captioned the post.
At the time of writing, it had been viewed 1.6 million times.

People took to the comments to share their appreciation of the exchange as well as point out the fact that the heckle was a bit, with one person writing: “For anyone thinking it was serious, they were both recently part of an actress roundtable that you can watch on YouTube. They sat right next to each other and praised each other the whole time.”
“Please take a note that Sofia Vergara is a great actress and she doesn’t have any beef with Jodie Foster. She was totally joking. They support each other. But she did the talk abt how her insecurity & how her accent limit her from opportunity to get various roles and sometimes,” said another, sharing a clip from the roundtable discussion.
A third person added: “Sofia never fails to make me laugh, I love her.”
Foster also won against Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Naomi Watts (Feud Capote vs. the Swans) and Kate Winslet (The Regime).
Elsewhere in her speech, the actor thanked her family, including her two sons, Charlie and Kit, and her wife of 10 years, Alexandra Hedison.
“I just want to thank my family. Kit, my scientist son, and Charlie, my actor son who’s starting his career,” she said.
“Hopefully you understand the joy, such joy that comes from doing really hard, meaningful good work. So, my boys—I love you, and this, of course, is for you and the love of my life, Alex. Thank you. Forever.”
