Nagy: Pensioners to receive first monthly inflation-adjusted transfers today
Márton Nagy, National Economy Minister, said pensioners will get their first monthly inflation-adjusted transfers today.
Minister Nagy noted that pensions were raised by 3.2pc from January, in line with expected annual average inflation.
The government is protecting pensioners and preserving the purchasing power of pensions, he said.
The average monthly pension is set to reach HUF 242,300. Budget expenditures on pensions are targeted at HUF 7,200bn in 2025. There are about 2.5m pensioners in Hungary.
Minister Nagy said the government was weighing how to expand a home renovation programme for residents of Hungary’s smallest settlements to pensioners.
