Chris Jericho Says WWE Hall of Fame “Doesn’t Matter”

Without a doubt, Chris Jericho is one of the most decorated wrestlers of all time, having had memorable stints in WCW, WWE, NJPW, and AEW.
Now, more than 35 years into his professional wrestling career, it’s hard to think of something that Jericho hasn’t done.

It seems at this point, Jericho is more than deserving of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
However, that may not be what Jericho himself wants.

During a recent interview with the Toronto Sun about his new film Dark Match, Jericho was asked if he would ever consider accepting an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
“I’m not one of those guys who cares about the Hall of Fame because I don’t think it’s really real anyways, so in some ways it’s like yeah, whatever,” Jericho said.
“In other ways, I want to pull a Sex Pistols and just refuse to show up. Send a letter saying do not mention my name like Axl Rose did. What a great wrestling thing to do.”
“It doesn’t matter to me, it really doesn’t,” Jericho elaborated. “It’s great that guys go in there and I’m glad they get a chance to, but I’m already in the Hall of Fame. It’s more for the fans. At this point in time, I could get put in the Hall of Fame and maybe get booed out of the building, so who knows.”
“We’ll see what happens, but for right here, right now, I’m enjoying what I’m still doing. I definitely wouldn’t go in the Hall of Fame if I’m still actively performing in the ring, so we’ll see.”

While Jericho’s recent run as leader of The Learning Tree has received mixed reactions from fans, there’s no doubt that Jericho belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame if he wants to be inducted.
Jericho began his professional wrestling career in 1990 and began garnering attention after joining WCW in 1996.
As part of the widely popular Cruiserweight division, Jericho held the WCW Cruiserweight Championship four times. He also held the WCW World Television Championship once.

While Jericho found success in WCW, it was nothing compared to the success he had with WWE.
After debuting under the Y2J moniker and declaring “Raw is Jericho,” Jericho would spend the majority of the next two decades with WWE.
During that time, Jericho would become the first Undisputed WWF Champion, holding both the WWF and World Championship at the same time.
With WWE, Jericho has won the WWF Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship three times, the WCW/World Championship twice, the Intercontinental Championship nine times, the US Championship twice, seven total tag team championships, and more.
