Brie Larson Looks Unrecognizable After Hair Transformation

Some actors change their costumes for a role — Brie Larson changed her entire look.
On Friday, January 31, the 35-year-old Oscar-winning actress took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes footage from the set of Elektra, the upcoming London stage production she’s starring in.

“Made this video to give a taste of what the last few months have been for me as we prepare for our West End debut,” she captioned her post. “I had never been in rigorous rehearsal process, and the play we created is wholly unique.”
But while talking about the intense work behind the production, all eyes were on her freshly shaved head.
“Wow you look great with no hair!!!!!!” one fan wrote in the comments section of the post.
“That cut fits you. You have a pretty face 😍 🙌,” another gushed.
“You’re always more beautiful, Brie!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥 ,” chimed in a third.
Not everyone was on board with the drastic change, though.
“I hate you for cutting the LUSCIOUS HAIR,” one person said.
“She looks absolutely horrible with that haircut,” another complained.
“Why did she have to shave her head for rehearsals?” someone else questioned.
Switching up her hair is nothing new for Larson. On November 25 2024, she debuted a pixie cut, trading in her blonde locks for a darker, more cropped look.
The shorter ‘do, however, came as a shock — especially since just a day earlier, the Captain Marvel star had posted a mirror selfie on Instagram, flaunting her long blonde hair. “Channeling my inner Glinda @arianagrande 😚,” she captioned the post.
Elektra, directed by Tony nominee Daniel Fish and based on Anne Carson’s translation of the Sophocles-written Greek tragedy, kicked off with a limited run in Brighton from January 13 to January 18, and is now playing at London’s Duke of York’s Theater until April 12. Larson stars alongside Stockard Channing, Marième Diouf, Greg Hicks, and Patrick Vaill.
