UFC News: Jon Jones Reveals ‘Big’ Announcement is Coming in 24 Hours
UFC superstar and current heavyweight champion Jon Jones left his career with many questions following his dominant win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 back on Nov. 16, 2024. Jones did state that he wouldn’t fight interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall unless the organization paid him “f*** you” money.

Jones also alluded to wanting to fight only for “legacy” which included naming light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira as a potential opponent. Despite Jones’ comments, UFC President Dana White revealed that Jones and Aspinall is the fight to make.
There have been rumors of the Jones and Aspinall fight happening for months, but that announcement might be incoming.
Jones revealed on his X page, “In 24 hours I’ll be making a huge announcement! #Andstill.”
One would think that his “and still” hashtag would mean he will be announcing his next fight, which could be Aspinall. Then again, his announcement could be multiple things.

For one, Jones has stated before that he could retire due to not needing to prove himself in the sport of MMA. This is true considering his domination of the light heavyweight division, followed by his dominant wins over Ciryl Gane and Miocic.
Jones has a record 15 title wins and 16 title matchups. No one in the UFC has been as dominant as Jones. If he chose to retire, it wouldn’t be the least bit surprising.
Then again, Jones might be alluding to any number of things. He could have signed a new contract, signed a new partnership, and any number of things.
Jones knows how to promote himself, and his announcement of an upcoming announcement has already set the internet ablaze.
Jones has the most impressive resume in MMA history, and he is also 37 years old. Though he still fights as great as a younger man, he is still getting up there in age.
Again, it wouldn’t be the least bit surprising if he were to walk away from the UFC.
The UFC could find itself in a place where they need to pay Jones a high amount of money to stick around and fight Aspinall, and that could be the pending announcement.
Either way, everyone will be patiently waiting to see what Jones announces in 24 hours.
