KDNP wants cash protected in the Basic Law
The members of the parliamentary group of the small coalition partner KDNP have started a nationwide road tour. Parliamentary group leader István Simicskó (left) emphasised the Christian Democrats’ family-friendly policies at a press conference in Szombathely, the first stop on the tour.
Opinions and suggestions from citizens are to be collected in personal discussions in order to represent them in parliament or other bodies and, if necessary, to suggest changes to laws. As a concrete example, he cited pensioners’ organisations pointing out the difficulties that older people have in using the increasing number of automated checkouts in multinational retail chains. In addition, cash should be largely retained alongside the use of credit cards. Simicskó believes it is important that the use of cash is protected either at the highest level of legislation or in the constitution.
The KDNP is of the opinion that ‘people must be protected from machines, from the misuse of machines. AI is a huge opportunity, both for the economy and for the country as a whole. But it also brings with it a number of threats. That’s why we need to protect ourselves, our data and our families,’ emphasised KDNP Vice President Csaba Latorcai.
