What to Expect
Both teams enter this matchup playing strong basketball, with the Cavaliers sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference at 45-10, eight games clear of the third-place Knicks at 37-18.
Cleveland continued their hot streak after the All-Star break with a 110-97 win over the Brooklyn Nets a night prior, extending their run to nine wins in 10 games. They boast the NBA’s No. 2 scoring offense, averaging 112.5 points per game, led by the backcourt tandem of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland.
New York is also on a back-to-back, having defeated the Chicago Bulls 113-111 at home on Thursday night. Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony-Towns continue to lead the NBA’s No. 4 offense (118.3 points per game), averaging 26 and 24.9 points, respectively.
