Three Shocking Suitors Linked To Trade For Blue Jays Star Bo Bichette
The Toronto Blue Jays may be looking to trade star shortstop Bo Bichette this season. Bichette is entering the final year of his contract and Toronto reportedly hasn’t shown any signs of looking to extend him.
Zachary Rymer of Bleacher Report recently linked the Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers, and Milwaukee Brewers to a potential blockbuster trade for Bichette.

“Whereas the Blue Jays at least tried with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bichette says he hasn’t been approached about an extension,” Rymer wrote. “Which may be just fine by him, as Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported in January that Bichette has ‘no real interest’ in staying in Toronto long-term. His actual trade value will hinge on how well he bounces back from a lost 2024 season.
“He’ll need to avoid injuries and get back to the player he was between 2021 and 2023 when he was a .300 hitter with 20-homer power. Whether Bichette will stick at shortstop beyond 2025 will eventually be an interesting question. But as a rental candidate for the remainder of the season, teams are sure to see him as at least playable there.”
If Bichette can bounce back from a down year this season, he will be quite a hot commodity on the trade market. His talent is undeniable. If you pair that with the Blue Jays falling out of contention before the deadline, Bichette will almost certainly land on the trade block.
The Brewers could be in the market to replace Willy Adames with a star. Adding Bichette would help the Brewers maintain control in the National League Central.
The Braves and Tigers both have struggling shortstops. Adding Bichette would allow either team to cut ties with their struggling player and replace him with Bichette.
This entire idea hinges on Bichette returning to the player he was a few seasons ago.
