Over two hundred new EV charging points, some of them even suitable for trucks, will be set up at around sixty locations, the Ministry of Energy announced in a statement published on its Facebook page.
The shortlist for the latest call for proposals under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to support the development of alternative fueling infrastructure, was published in February. Among the 39 projects that received a total contribution of around EUR 422 million, two Hungarian projects were among the winners, the ministry announced.
MVM Mobiliti has received over EUR 2 million in funding for the installation of at least 67 charging points.
The development will enable even faster and more convenient charging for e-car drivers on a wider network of roads than ever before, the ministry pointed out.
Thanks to previous EU tenders, the company is now installing charging points in 10 locations and 20 more by the end of 2026.
The recent decision will allow green car users to access the company’s service at 30 more locations. The subsidized investments will bring us closer to the realization of the distance and performance-based mandatory infrastructure targets and the full interoperability of Hungary, the ministry wrote.

The ministry added that in a series of developments involving thirteen Member States and with EUR 28.8 million in funding,
E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI) will install new charging stations at 30 sites in Hungary.
Twenty stations in Hungary will provide a total of 100 charging points for cars. A further ten sites will have 36 charging points exclusively for trucks, to be located at busy road sections, urban junctions, and parking garages.
