Alien Documentary Can Help Reveal Official Secrets: Director
A new documentary featuring dozens of former government officials has gained traction among extraterrestrial enthusiasts.
The Age of Disclosure, which debuted at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, claims to reveal a “cover-up of the existence of non-human intelligent life”.
Newsweek contacted the creators of the documentary via email for more information.
Why It Matters
A significant minority of Americans believe that global governments are concealing proof of UFOs and alien life from the public. Congress held hearings about reported UFO sightings in 2023, and President Donald Trump has indicated that his administration may declassify some information on the nature of extraterrestrial life.
What To Know
The trailer for the documentary, which has already received over 1.6 million views on YouTube in just one month, alleges that there has been a large-scale cover up of non-human intelligence.
“The Age of Disclosure is an unprecedented and revelatory film—featuring 34 senior members of the U.S. Government, military, and intelligence community– revealing a cover-up of the existence of non-human intelligent life and a secret war to reverse engineer technology of non-human origin,” the documentary’s description reads.

“The film exposes the profound impact the situation has on the future of humanity, while providing a look behind-the-scenes with those at the forefront of the bi-partisan disclosure effort.”
Participants claiming to be former government officials featured in the documentary say that they were recruited to organizations designed to “reverse engineer” alien vehicles, in competition with other countries.
“I have seen with my own eyes, non-human craft and non-human beings,” one contributor says in the trailer.
Interest in UFOs has spiked in recent months, after the November mystery drone sightings over New England and a Senate hearing that admitted testimony from military figures who believe national security is at risk.
What People Are Saying
Director Dan Farah said in an interview with Variety: “I certainly didn’t think about it at first. I was like, ‘If this stuff exists, why aren’t they telling us?’ And then I learned the answer: There’s all this good stuff that could come out of it, but this technology could also be used by bad actors to cause significant destruction.”
Some high-level politicians were afraid of how it might taint their reputation or impact them politically. And some intelligence officials legitimately believed that their lives would be in danger if they participated in the film. After long conversations with their significant others, they decided it just wasn’t worth it. That was eye-opening for me. The more you go down the rabbit hole, it becomes clear really fast that this 80-year cover-up of the truth has been enforced with threats.”
What Happens Next
The documentary premiered on March 9 and is expected to be available on U.S. streaming platforms soon.
