Szijjártó: Sikorski is one of the most depraved pro-war politicians in Europe
The foreign minister said the US was “clearly fully committed to peacemaking”.
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said on Tuesday that Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski “is one of the most depraved pro-war politicians in Europe, so it is hardly surprising that he clashed with Elon Musk, who represents the position of the pro-peace” US government.
Commenting on the spat between Sikorski and the billionaire, Minister Szijjártó said the US was “clearly fully committed to peacemaking”, so it was unsurprising that a “committed peacemaker and an aggressively pro-war politician would descend to such a level”.
“We know the style of the Polish foreign minister and the current Polish government”, a ministry statement cited Minister Szijjártó as saying at a press conference. He insisted they had a “poor record in the way they represent themselves” and were “destroying the rule of law in Poland”.
He added that it was “natural that an exchange of views in this style would occur” online at some point.
Hopefully “pro-war politicians” such as Sikorski would not succeed in undermining peace negotiations spearheaded by US President Donald Trump, he added.
