Ukrainian star Yaroslav Amosov claims first-round finish at CFFC 140, hopes for UFC call
Ukrainian superstar Yaroslav Amosov returned to action with an eye-catching first-round submission victory and admitted that he’d love to get a call from the UFC to join the sport’s biggest stage.
Former Bellator welterweight champion Amosov built an incredible 27-0 record and captured the promotion’s 170-pound title, but the end of his time with the promotion came after he was defeated for the first time by Jason Jackson.

Now a free agent, Amosov had the opportunity to showcase his talents on UFC Fight Pass in the main event of CFFC 140, where he took on former UFC and Bellator veteran Curtis Millender at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
And, in a performance that showed that he hasn’t lost a step since his last outing, Amosov needed less than a round to finish “Curtious” with a D’Arce choke to claim the 28th win of his career and put himself firmly in the shop window for the UFC matchmakers.
Speaking to CFFC commentator John Morgan after his victory, Amosov said he was happy to get back to competitive action, and to bounce back with a win.
“I feel very great, because really I waited a very long time for my fight, and now it’s mission completed. I’m happy,” he said.
“I’m happy because my team are with me today, and it’s the first fight when my wife came to my fight, and she gave me very big energy. Love wins everything.”

The fight was pitched as a dress rehearsal for a potential move to the UFC, and Amosov said he’s ready to take the call and join the biggest promotion in the sport.
“I will be happy (if I get the call from the UFC),” he said, revealing a special gumshield emblazoned with the UFC logo.
“I made this maybe one and a half year ago, because one guy, he made this for me, and now I fight with this.”
If Amosov does get the call to join the UFC, he’ll join a talent-stacked welterweight division currently headed by reigning champion Belal Muhammad.
Two of the division’s top contenders, former champion Leon Edwards and fellow contender Sean Brady, will headline next weekend’s UFC Fight Night event in London, England.
