‘American Pickers’ Mike Shares Filming Update With Danielle

American Pickers star Mike Wolfe shared an update on filming with his costar Danielle Colby.

The reality TV show premiered in 2010 and has had 26 seasons to date. The series follows a team of collectors in search of antique items found in junkyards, old barns and more. Along the way, they meet unique people who share their stories about the hidden gems.

On Monday, Wolfe, 60, took to Instagram and Facebook to post a photo with Colby, 49, alongside a woman named Nora, who appeared on a previous episode of American Pickers. Wolfe shared that her husband, JP—who was also on the program—died recently, and he revealed he and Colby shot a tribute with her.

Newsweek reached out to Wolfe’s representative via email for comment.

“20 years ago I bought a camera and a box of Mini DV tapes and started shooting my adventures picking across America,” the Day of Reckoning star began his lengthy post. “The show was just a dream back then for a guy that was sleeping in his van and knocking on doors. But even then I knew how impactful and inspiring each collector’s story could be to all of us.”

“This is Nora Danny [Colby], and I filmed with her a few days ago but I met her and her husband JP back in 2017 When we shot an episode of American Pickers with them. Her and JP have devoted their lives to their passions and collecting. With them both being artist and visual merchandisers you can only image the funky beautiful pieces they came across together.”

Wolfe continued: “JP has unfortunately passed, so what we shot recently was a tribute to a life well lived and the beauty that still remains thru all of his work. Nora’s energy has made such an impact on my life and Danny’s I can’t wait for you all to meet her.”

At the time of publication, the Instagram post racked up more than 31,400 likes with over 300 comments, and on Facebook, it garnered an additional 20,000 likes and 1,100 comments.

In the replies, fans expressed their excitement for the episode as well as their condolences.

“I just watched Nora and JP’s episode. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. RIP JP,” Facebook user Tammy Silkey said. “As for you bringing American Pickers to life, thank goodness you did. I’ve learned and laughed, and even cried a little bit. But mostly, I’ve loved picking vicariously through you guys. So much love to you all. 💗”

“LOVE American Pickers and cannot wait for the next season to air!” Facebook user Pam Dimaio wrote.

“Sometimes the people are also the treasures 😢😍,” Instagram user Amy Kaye added.

“❤️❤️❤️ oh how Sweet! Love your Show and the Amazing treasures you and Danny find!!!!” Instagram’s Brenda Ramos chimed in.

During a Q&A in 2010, Wolfe explained why he had asked Colby—whom he had known for years before their stardom—to join him on American Pickers.

“I saw what she was capable of. I mean, she’s got the edge, she’s got the look. One thing I wanted when I hired her, and I knew she was going to be on camera, is I wanted someone that did not look like they would work in any antique shop because I wanted our show to be looked at in a different way,” he said alongside Colby and late American Pickers star Frank Fritz.

He added, “I wanted people to look at antiques like they’re fun, they’re rad, they’re killer, they’re awesome. I wanted people to know that they didn’t have to have a blue blazer and 10 cats to be an antique dealer.”

Fritz died in September at the age of 60 from “late sequela of cerebral infarction,” or a stroke that resulted from cerebral vascular disease, his death certificate stated, per TMZ.

American Pickers is currently filming and will wrap up in June, People reported.
