Jamal Murray’s Game 6 Status Revealed Ahead of Nuggets-Thunder Showdown

Denver will look to keep its season alive in front of its home fans. However, due to illness, its star guard, Jamal Murray, landed on the injury report late, hours before tip-off.

He was downgraded to questionable, but the official injury report has been released, so we now know his status for Denver’s crucial Game 6.

The Nuggets have upgraded Murray from questionable to available for Game 6. He will start and play for the Nuggets in this do-or-die game.

The fourth-seeded Nuggets are on the brink of elimination as they take on the top-seeded Thunder in the Western Conference. Jamal Murray has been a standout performer this postseason, posting averages of 22.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from deep across 12 playoff contests, logging 41.8 minutes a night.

In the second round alone, Murray has maintained strong production, averaging 21.4 points, 4.6 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 41.2 minutes through five games.

The Nuggets are underdogs in this game despite being at home. According to ESPN Bet, the Nuggets have a +5.5 spread as they try to keep their season alive. Denver has a legitimate chance to go up in the series in Game 5, but they failed to execute in the fourth quarter as they were defeated, 112-105.

Murray was spectacular in Game 5 as he recorded 28 points on 10-of-27 shooting from the field, four rebounds, three assists, and one block in 42 minutes of action.

The 28-year-old star took the blame for his performance in the loss after Game 5.

“If you’re looking for somebody to blame, I think I need to do better. I didn’t shoot the ball as well as I needed to today, and I had some sloppy turnovers. I could have taken command of the ball a little more, maybe down stretch and got us a little more organized or something. But I think he’s been playing amazing. I think he does everything he can to win every single night,” said Murray.
