FM: Energy supplies from Russia continue to be secure
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said Europe continually faces energy crises, but in Hungary, energy supplies from Russia continue to be secure because transit deliveries are undisturbed.
“Europe, basically out of its own fault, continually faces energy crises,” Minister Szijjártó said on Facebook after a phone call with Russia’s deputy prime minister in charge of energy affairs, according to a ministry statement.
“We, however, guarantee the security of Russian energy deliveries even amid these uncertain circumstances,” he said. “Russia plays a key role in this, not for political but for geographical reasons.”
He said he had reviewed with Alexander Novak the standing of Hungary-Russia energy cooperation, and they had established that crude oil and natural gas deliveries from Russia continued to be unhindered to Hungary.
“Alexander Novak confirmed that Russia will continue to secure the energy deliveries required for us and the legal environment necessary for unhindered supplies,” he added.
