Woman accused of pulling out 2 of her daughter’s teeth, yelling that the child had a ‘demon in her’

RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. (TCN) — Authorities recently arrested a woman on suspicion of pulling out her child’s teeth.

On June 19, Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Lester area to a report of possible child abuse. Authorities allege Rebecca Bailey “pinned down her 5-year-old daughter” and pulled out two of her bottom front teeth.

Witnesses reportedly heard Bailey “yelling that the child ‘had a demon in her’ while holding a cross.” A family member woke up, intervened, and stayed with the girl until authorities arrived.

According to the sheriff’s office, the child was taken into custody by a “responsible family member.”
