Announcement: Newsweek Sports Betting Newsletter Launching July 11

Newsweek is about to take the next step in its dedicated daily coverage of sports betting with a brand-new weekly newsletter specifically for sports bettors.

Newsweek Sports Betting will be hitting inboxes soon, so go ahead and sign up to receive it now before the first edition hits inboxes next Friday, July 11.

Now, let’s run through the most popular questions we’ve gotten so far to let you know exactly what Newsweek Sports Betting will be delivering (hint: it’s exactly what the name suggests).

First, here’s how we’d describe it in 10 words or fewer:

Sharp betting analysis, trends and picks – straight to your inbox.

What Is Newsweek Sports Betting?

An entertaining, informative weekly newsletter about what to bet on in sports every weekend.

Newsweek Sports Betting will feature — you guessed it — our deeply researched favorite bets of the upcoming weekend, and why we like them.

We’ll also be highlighting the best of what you can find at Newsweek’s dedicated sports betting vertical, with links to our latest analysis.

In addition, Newsweek Sports Betting will feature a betting-related hot take of the week (just what we all need more of, right?), plus a fully transparent rundown of the week that was, with ownership of what we got right and what we got wrong — 🤞for much more of the former than the latter.

When Will I Receive This Newsletter?

For the first few months of this newsletter, starting July 11, we’ll publish every Friday at noon EST. Even if you’re working shorter summer Fridays, you’ll get this right before you close your computer for the weekend.

Expect multiple editions per week during football season. We’ll have more details on our fall publishing schedule as we get closer to the biggest months of the year for sports bettors but for now, count on hearing from us every Friday.

Who Is Writing Newsweek Sports Betting?

I’m Tyler Everett, and I’ve been Newsweek’s Sports Betting Editor since June of 2024. You can easily stay up-to-date with all of my sports betting content for Newsweek by visiting the Newsweek sports betting homepage.

Before I go any further, I will admit that I began my Newsweek tenure with a piece about why the Mavericks had a real chance to beat the Celtics in last year’s Finals.

Fortunately, we’ve had much better luck around here lately. Recent highlights include a Sam Bennett for Conn Smythe recommendation before the Stanley Cup Final and an accurate Kevin Durant to Houston prediction at longer than 2-to-1 odds.

We also “went out on a limb” by picking LSU to win the Men’s College World Series, and the Tigers came through with their second national title in three years.

And while I was not a founding member of the Florida Gators basketball bandwagon in March, I did go on the record picking Florida to win the SEC Tournament at longer than +300 odds, and I also picked the Gators to win the 2025 NCAA Tournament before it got underway.

I’ve been a sports writer for over 15 years now, and I’ve been writing and editing sports betting-specific content since 2019.

That’s all I’ve got for now, but if you haven’t already signed up, here’s another link.

Looking forward to gracing your inboxes with my analysis — and, with any luck, winning bets — on July 11,

Tyler Everett
