Expect multiple editions per week during football season. We’ll have more details on our fall publishing schedule as we get closer to the biggest months of the year for sports bettors but for now, count on hearing from us every Friday.
Who Is Writing Newsweek Sports Betting?
I’m Tyler Everett, and I’ve been Newsweek’s Sports Betting Editor since June of 2024. You can easily stay up-to-date with all of my sports betting content for Newsweek by visiting the Newsweek sports betting homepage.
Before I go any further, I will admit that I began my Newsweek tenure with a piece about why the Mavericks had a real chance to beat the Celtics in last year’s Finals.
Fortunately, we’ve had much better luck around here lately. Recent highlights include a Sam Bennett for Conn Smythe recommendation before the Stanley Cup Final and an accurate Kevin Durant to Houston prediction at longer than 2-to-1 odds.
We also “went out on a limb” by picking LSU to win the Men’s College World Series, and the Tigers came through with their second national title in three years.
And while I was not a founding member of the Florida Gators basketball bandwagon in March, I did go on the record picking Florida to win the SEC Tournament at longer than +300 odds, and I also picked the Gators to win the 2025 NCAA Tournament before it got underway.
I’ve been a sports writer for over 15 years now, and I’ve been writing and editing sports betting-specific content since 2019.
