Man allegedly stabbed with shards of glass following argument over Pokémon cards
COLMA, Calif. (TCN) — Police recently arrested two individuals after they allegedly assaulted a man following an argument over cutting a line to purchase Pokémon cards.
According to the Colma Police Department, on the morning of July 5, officers responded to a GameStop and located a victim with lacerations to the head, as well as multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, but officers said they are currently in stable condition.
Upon further investigation, police determined an argument occurred between the victim and two suspects, 27-year-old Isaiah Calles and 49-year-old Miguel Orellanas Flores. Authorities allege that Orellanas Flores attempted to cut in line to purchase Pokémon cards, and a fight ensued. Orellanas Flores allegedly hit the victim in the back of the head with a glass Mason jar, and Calles grabbed broken shards of glass from the jar before stabbing the victim numerous times.
The victim gave officers photos of the suspects’ vehicles, and authorities later located the suspects and took them into custody. Orellanas Flores and Calles face charges of assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, battery with serious bodily injury, and conspiracy to commit a crime. They were both booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
