Philadelphia Eagles Standouts Make Important Announcement

On Wednesday, Philadelphia Eagles stars Reed Blankenship and Cooper DeJean made an announcement regarding their podcast, ‘Exciting Mics.’
The show will be going on a break—but not for long.
As the veteran safety Reed Blankenship got married this offseason, the duo took a hiatus from the show. Fortunately for the loyal listeners, the hiatus will be short-lived.
The two NFL stars took to social media on Wednesday to send a message to their listeners.
“I just want to give a huge shout-out to all of our fans of the Exciting Mics for tuning in every week,” said Reed Blankenship.
“You know we always love the support from you. Ya’ll got to hear some of me and Coop’s stories, hear some of our teammates, re-live some of the moments from this past year. It’s always been exciting. We are taking a little break. I am getting married. I’m very excited about that. So, stay tuned, and always, Go Birds.”
“I want to give a huge shoutout to everybody who’s tuned into Exciting Mics thus far,” Cooper DeJean added. “It’s been a lot of fun just being able to chop it up with our teammates, learn more about them, share some stories from this past season. Also, from me and Reed, to share our stories. We’ll be back. We’ll be back July 17th, Thursday, with another episode of Exciting Mics.”

Last year, the combination of Blankenship and DeJean earned a fan-given nickname, the “Exciting Whites.” It stuck throughout the 2024 NFL season, and eventually led to the two defensive backs firing up their podcast, which is a play-on with their nickname.

The first episode was released back on May 15. Since then, Blankenship and DeJean’s show has featured many guests such as Eagles superfan Gillie Da King, and teammates Saquon Barkley, Quinyon Mitchell, Zack Baun, and Nolan Smith.

The show has given Eagles and NFL fans an opportunity to learn more about some of the most notable players in Philadelphia.
As the show returns later this month, it’s unclear what the future holds for it once the Eagles are back at training camp. Since the podcast was launched months after DeJean and Blankenship helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs, the plans for having the show during the season haven’t been revealed.
