FOX Sports host Kevin Burkhardt turned to his broadcast partners in the All-Star trio of Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz to get their World Series predictions during Tuesday’s postgame coverage.
The two former Yankees stars had New York winning its first title since 2009. Both cited trade deadline aggression from general manager Brian Cashman as their reason for picking the Yankees. Jeter tabbed the Yankees to beat the Chicago Cubs while Rodriguez had New York getting revenge against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a rematch of the 2024 World Series.
Meanwhile, Ortiz tabbed his former team in the Boston Red Sox to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers in a rematch of the 2018 World Series. Ortiz pointed to Boston’s 10-game winning streak entering the All-Star break as his reason for picking the ballclub to win it all.
These certainly were not groundbreaking predictions with a trio of homer picks from the baseball legends. Nonetheless, MLB has seen plenty of parity throughout the postseason in recent years, which should set up another intriguing playoff run this October.
