The brother of late NFL star and Army hero Pat Tillman was arrested after allegedly crashing into a post office, sparking a fire that gutted the building, according to reports.
A 44-year-old Richard Tillman was taken into custody by San Jose police and booked into Santa Clara County Jail, records show, after the incident at the Californian post office in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“The person in police custody is named Richard Tillman, who is reported to be the brother of the late NFL player and US Army soldier Patrick Tillman,” the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) said.
Southern California station KABC first reported the suspect was Pat Tillman’s brother.
Dozens of firefighters were forced to tackle the blaze at Almaden Valley Post Office on Crown Boulevard, and news footage filmed later that morning showed workers boarding up the building on Sunday.

USPIS inspector Matthew Norfleet told ABC 7: “Postal inspectors are investigating as an intentional act, it will be determined in a court of law if it was.” He said any mail inside the building is presumed to have been destroyed.
