Yankees’ Aaron Boone Makes Giancarlo Stanton Statement After Aaron Judge Injury
🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.
The New York Yankees will be without their superstar outfielder, Aaron Judge, for at least 10 days. Yankees manager Aaron Boone recently announced that Judge was heading to the injured list with a flexor strain that seemed to pop up over the last few games.
The good news is that this injury typically only impacts gripping and throwing. With that in mind, the best-case scenario sees Judge return to the lineup as an everyday designated hitter after the first 10 days. It’s unclear how long Judge would be the DH, but an issue arises in that situation.

Where does Giancarlo Stanton go?
Stanton hasn’t played the field since 2023, when he played 33 games split between left field and right field for the Yankees. But Boone announced that Stanton would begin taking reps in the outfield again in the near future to see if it’s possible to play him out there when Judge returns as a DH.
It’s hard to gauge if Stanton will be able to play outfield at this stage of his career. He’s looked rough on the bases for the last two years and doesn’t seem to have a second gear to shift into when he’s running anymore. Adding him to the outfield could make a bad Yankees defense even worse.
But at the end of the day, Boone is going to prioritize getting Judge in the lineup every game possible. If Stanton can’t play the field, that means he’ll sit until Judge can play the field again.
