Mississippi caregiver allegedly killed man who was malnourished and showed signs of neglect
COLUMBIA, Miss. (TCN) — Authorities recently announced the arrest of a caregiver accused of killing a man several years ago.
Columbia Police said Joseph Woodward’s death remained unsolved since May 2021. According to WHLT-TV, he died under suspicious circumstances, was malnourished, and showed signs of neglect.
In a statement posted July 24, police said they arrested Nancy Ledger and booked her into the Marion County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder. She was reportedly Woodward’s caregiver.
Police stated, “Our team has worked tirelessly to seek justice for Joseph Woodward and his family. This arrest marks a significant step forward in resolving this tragic case. We hope this brings some measure of closure to those affected by this crime.”
