Dodgers Blockbuster? Cy Young Ace Linked To LA In Deadline Deal
🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.
The Los Angeles Dodgers came into the season with more pitching talent than any team in baseball, but injuries quickly turned the Dodgers’ rotation into a middle-of-the-pack unit.
It’s unclear when Blake Snell will return to the mound in Los Angeles. Roki Sasaki seems unlikely to return to the big leagues this season. Dustin May has been mentioned as a potential trade chip, and Shohei Ohtani isn’t back to 100 percent yet.
The Dodgers need to go out and add pitching at the trade deadline, or all of their spending will be for nothing this season.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi recently reported the Dodgers and Cleveland Guardians had spoken about a potential trade that would send former Cy Young winner Shane Bieber to Los Angeles ahead of the trade deadline.
Bieber would be a risky player for the Dodgers to add at the deadline for obvious reasons. The righty is returning from Tommy John surgery and has yet to make a big league appearance since surgery. It seems like he’s recovering well, but you can never be sure until a player is back at the big league level.
With the Dodgers battling injuries already, it wouldn’t make much sense to go after a pitcher who’s a walking question mark. Bieber has the potential to return to the Cy Young level he was a few seasons ago, but it’s far from a guarantee.
The Dodgers would be much better off going after a player who’s proved to be competitive at the big league level this season. Somebody like Edward Cabrera or Zack Littell could make sense.
