Man convicted of shooting at a group of juveniles fleeing his property, hitting 1 in the head

On the morning of May 7, 2023, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a home to a report of a shooting and found a 14-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Upon further investigation, authorities reportedly learned that “several juveniles were playing hide-and-seek in the area and were hiding on the neighbor’s property.”

According to the sheriff’s office, Doyle told officials he “observed shadows outside his home,” so he retrieved a firearm, went back outside, and shot at the juveniles as they were running away. The defendant reportedly claimed he “unknowingly hit the girl.”

The 14-year-old victim was transported to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
