Phillies ‘Favorites’ To Sign Brother Of Rival Braves’ Ronald Acuña Jr.
🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.
The National League East has no shortage of talented rosters between the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets and Atlanta Braves.
The Braves are not having a good season, but typically, any of those three teams can go into a season with a chance to win the division. The Braves, led by Ronald Acuña Jr., have a roster full of All-Stars, just like the Phillies and Mets. According to a report from MLB insider Francys Romero, the Phillies are the favorites to sign Kenny Acuña, the youngest brother of Ronald Acuña Jr.
“The Philadelphia Phillies are the favorites to sign Venezuelan SS Kenny Acuña for around $3M when a new international signing period opens on January 15, 2028, per industry sources,” Romero reported on X. “Kenny, younger brother of Ronald Acuña Jr., drew interest from over 20 MLB teams.”

For the Braves, Acuña is a five-time All-Star, three-time Silver Slugger and MVP Award winner. One of his younger brothers has already made his big league debut, Luisangel Acuña.
He is an infielder for the Mets who is currently in the minor leagues after some struggles this year. If the Phillies sign the youngest sibling of the family, there is a chance the three would be part of NL East organizations. They have another sibling, Bryan Acuña, who is currently a prospect in the Minnesota Twins system.
The youngest Acuña brother is still only 14 years old, but the Phillies reportedly agreed to sign him when he was just 12 years old.
