NFL Analyst Bashes Jerry Jones’ Approach With Micah Parsons

For the second year in a row, the Dallas Cowboys find themselves in a standoff with one of their core pieces regarding a new contract. As things between Micah Parsons and the organization continue to escalate, one analyst did not hold back on his thoughts on Jerry Jones’ approach.

This ordeal stretches back months when Parsons first approached the Cowboys about an extension off of his rookie deal. The two sides seemed to be close to an agreement, which led to the star linebacker getting his agent involved. Since then, things have gone completely off the rails and become a worst-case scenario for Dallas.

Parsons has remained a professional and stayed around the team in some capacity, but recently made his frustrations very public. In a long post on social media last week, he gave his thoughts on this ordeal while also telling the world he’s requested a trade from the Cowboys.

Nick Wright gives his thoughts on Jerry Jones’ discussions with Micah Parsons

In his jaw-dropping post, Parsons talked about Jones wanting to discuss his contract without his agent present. This led to many people giving their thoughts on the longtime owner’s tactics.

Among those who did not hold back when discussing Jones was FS1’s Nick Wright. He dove into the situation on a recent episode of First Things First, dubbing his practices unethical.

“Jerry feels like they had an agreement and he wants to stick to it. And I think that is an unethical way to do business,” Wright said. “What I do not think is right is if a player does not think we are going to be talking about numbers and a contract. And then it comes up and he engages, to then be like alright, shook on it, you and I said deal’s a deal. That is not Micah’s expertise.”

Despite Parsons asking for a trade, it doesn’t look like he’ll be playing for a team that isn’t the Cowboys anytime soon. Following his social media post, Jones gave his thoughts on the latest developments. He still expects the two sides to work things out, dismissing any notion that Dallas plans on honoring Parsons’ request.

As the Cowboys get ready to begin their preseason schedule, they have to deal with this very public back-and-forth hanging over their heads.
