One of Our Popular Thermal Spas is Getting a Complete Overhaul

The Bogács Thermal Spa (north-eastern Hungary) is undergoing a comprehensive energy-efficiency upgrade worth over HUF 843 million (EUR 2.1 million), fully supported by a non-refundable European Union grant, according to a statement from Mezőkövesdi Média Nkft.
The project, spearheaded by Bogácsi Thermálfürdő Kft., includes the installation of a solar power plant, upgrades to the spa’s outdoor lighting, and a comprehensive overhaul of its thermal energy supply system.
As part of the improvements, the medical facility within the spa complex will receive a new ventilation and dehumidification system, along with a modern underfloor heating system. The technology and mechanical infrastructure for the cold-water swimming pool will also be upgraded.
In addition, the renovation covers the refurbishment of general mechanical systems, replacement of the outdated water and engineering equipment, and the overhaul of the main thermal pipeline. The development will also involve drilling a new well and replacing the pump of the spa’s primary cold-water well.

A new building management system will be installed to monitor and control the operation of the spa’s heating, water supply, and mechanical systems, ensuring energy-efficient performance across the board.
The project aims to significantly reduce the spa’s electricity and thermal energy consumption by introducing renewable energy sources and modern technological solutions.
The development is being carried out under Hungary’s Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Program Plus (TOP Plusz) and is expected to be completed by the end of March 2026.
Bogácsi Thermálfürdő Kft. reported net revenues of HUF 1.475 billion (cc. EUR 3.78 million) in 2024, up from HUF 1.322 billion (cc. EUR 3.39 million) the previous year. The company’s post-tax profit reached HUF 83.26 million (cc. EUR 213,500) in 2024, compared to HUF 70.68 million (cc. EUR 181,200) in 2023.
