Moment Owner Surprises 11-Month-Old Puppy After Week Away: ‘Her Person’

A dog’s adorable reaction to reuniting with her owner after a week apart has melted hearts online, as internet users can’t cope with her happy wiggle.

Dog owner Charlotte Webb shared the sweet video of the moment her 11-month-old blue heeler named Kota got the surprise she’d been waiting all week for. Webb told Newsweek that her partner, Will, had been “working on the road” and hadn’t been home for several days, which was hard for Kota to understand.

Indeed, Kota really missed her owner, and Webb, of New Hampshire, knew it would be a special moment when she finally got to see Will again.

While waiting in the car with Kota, Webb couldn’t resist capturing her dog’s precious response when she saw Will. He stood outside the car and pressed his head against the window on Kota’s side, just waiting for the blue heeler to notice eventually.

“She was very excited to see him, and this is her typical reaction when she’s so happy,” Webb said. “She missed Will so much while he was working.”

After a few seconds of confusion, Kota looked towards her window and finally spotted Will standing in front of her. She couldn’t stop wagging her tail and wiggling her body with sheer excitement from that moment on.

Webb shared the footage of their sweet reunion on the dog’s designated TikTok account (@blueheelerkota) and it delighted the internet. The video has gone viral with over 1.8 million views and more than 406,100 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.

The caption alongside the clip reads: “It’s the way he popped up out of nowhere for me.”

The response online since posting the TikTok video has been amazing to see, as Webb tells Newsweek that Kota has “many supporters” across the internet. Webb regularly shares videos of Kota’s antics on social media, but this heartwarming video of Kota’s reaction has certainly captured far more attention than anticipated.

Many people took to the comments section to hail the bond between Kota and her owner, leading to more than 260 comments on the TikTok post so far.
