Pittsburgh Steelers Dealt Bad Injury News Before Facing Seahawks
Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers will look to move to 2-0 on Sunday when they face off against the Seattle Seahawks. For the second straight game, it will be a revenge matchup for the Steelers.
DK Metcalf will have a chance to defeat his old team. Last week, Aaron Rodgers was able to pull off a hard-fought 34-32 win over his old team, the New York Jets.
Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, there are some major injury issues leading up to the showdown against the Seahawks.

As shared by ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, the Steelers have been dealt another blow on the injury front. Joey Porter Jr., the team’s starting cornerback, has been ruled out for the game.

Losing Porter will be a tough situation for Pittsburgh to deal with. He has become an integral part of the Steelers’ defense and his absence will be felt.
Throughout his first two NFL season and one game into his third, Porter has played in 34 total games. He has recorded 114 total tackles to go along with two interceptions and 17 defended passes.
Pittsburgh will be missing more than just Porter on the defensive side of the football. Both safety DeShon Elliott and defensive tackle Derrick Harmon have already been ruled out for the game as well.
Other names to watch on the injury report are Nick Herbig and Alex Highsmith. Herbig is dealing with a hamstring injury, while Highsmith appeared on the report with an ankle injury.
Looking at the upcoming matchup, the Steelers will have their hands full defensively without Porter. Seattle has Sam Darnold leading the way at quarterback, with his top weapons being Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp.
After a tough showing offensive for the Seahawks in Week 1 that saw them lose 17-13 to the San Francisco 49ers, they are sure to enter Week 2 with a more aggressive mindset.

Without Porter on the field, Pittsburgh will need other players to step up. Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay give the Steelers a good cornerback duo, while other players like Brandin Echols will be asked to play a larger role.
It will be interesting to see what Week 2 has in store for Pittsburgh. Playing without Porter will hurt the Steelers’ secondary, but they should still be in decent shape with the roster they put together.
