What JD Vance Has Said About Charlie Kirk
Vance has paid tribute to Kirk in several posts on X, calling him “a genuinely good guy.”
“Charlie was fascinated by ideas and always willing to learn and change his mind,” Vance said in one X post on September 11, adding that Kirk “was one of the first people I called when I thought about running for senate in early 2021.”
“When I became the VP nominee—something Charlie advocated for both in public and private—Charlie was there for me. I was so glad to be part of the president’s team, but candidly surprised by the effect it had on our family.
“Our kids, especially our oldest, struggled with the attention and the constant presence of the protective detail. I felt this acute sense of guilt, that I had conscripted my kids into this life without getting their permission.
“And Charlie was constantly calling and texting, checking on our family and offering guidance and prayers.”
Vance added: “Charlie Kirk was a true friend. The kind of guy you could say something to and know it would always stay with him.”
Who Killed Charlie Kirk?
The suspect charged with the murder of Kirk is 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah.
Investigators said Robinson’s family told them he had become increasingly political recently.
Bullet casings from the weapon investigators believe was used in the shooting of Kirk were etched with anti-fascist messages.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox said Robinson was living with a trans romantic partner and he had “a leftist ideology.”
