Woman Checks Great Danes on Pet Cam, Unprepared for What Puppy Is Doing

A curious dog owner who wondered what her dogs got up to when they’re alone was unprepared for what the pet camera revealed.

TikTok user Mariel Cheda (@marielcheda) is often left wondering what her three Great Danes do when they’re home alone. Especially since she foster failed the harlequin Dane, Renata, who is a much younger pup than her sisters, Romina and Romana.

Indeed, that age disparity certainly showed when Cheda checked her pet cam in the day to find Renata running riot while her sisters tried to sleep. Cheda shared the hilarious footage on TikTok on August 27, showing the 7-month-old puppy leaping on the couch, running from room to room, and even jumping onto her sisters.

Renata, who is a foster fail, didn’t show any signs of tiring as she continued causing mayhem. At one point, Romina stepped in to calm the pup down and to try and keep her still.

Since the clip was shared online, internet users can’t get enough of Renata’s chaotic antics. The video has gone viral on TikTok with over 314,100 views and more than 53,400 likes at the time of writing.

Newsweek has contacted Cheda via TikTok for comment. We could not verify the details of the video.

The caption layered over the video reads: “When [you] check your camera to see what your dogs do when you’re gone and this is your 7-month puppy.”

While female Great Danes can typically grow up to 30 inches tall at the shoulder, and can weigh up to 140 pounds when fully grown, they still have plenty of energy to expend. The American Kennel Club (AKC) highlights that their playfulness can be almost non-stop and they can have very high energy levels (as Renata displayed).

As a result, the breed tends to have high mental stimulation needs and can benefit from having a job or activity to keep them occupied.

The AKC recommends two or three brisk walks every day for Great Danes, but they shouldn’t do rigorous exercise around mealtimes as they’re at risk of bloat. The breed is known to enjoy events such as agility, obedience, and scent tracking to stimulate their mind and body.

Since the video went viral on TikTok, social media users have lauded the stark contrast between Renata and her sisters. This has led to more than 1,100 comments on the TikTok post so far.

One comment reads: “The older dogs said for the love of god SIT DOWN.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “Lol not your indoor horse having the zoomies. At least she’s got good balance.”

Another person added: “The one on the couch is just waiting for mom to get home to tattletale.”

While one commenter joked: “At this point just get rid of the couch and make the living room an obstacle course lol.”
