Woman charged after allegedly fatally shooting her 60-year-old boyfriend
CLEARWATER, Fla. (TCN) — A woman was recently charged with first-degree murder after allegedly fatally shooting a man she was in a relationship with.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, on Aug. 19 at around 1:12 a.m., deputies responded to a home after a 911 caller claimed to have heard a “loud noise” and a woman say, “I have a gun.” At the scene, authorities reportedly made contact with 38-year-old Amanda Tenney.
Per an arrest affidavit obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, Tenney appeared freshly showered when deputies met with her, but she had blood on her face and feet, and there were bloody footprints inside the home.
Deputies later located 60-year-old Patrick Denney deceased on a bedroom floor with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The sheriff’s office said Tenney was in a relationship with Denney.
Allegedly, Tenney tried to clean up the scene and failed to call 911 following Denney’s death. She was initially arrested on Aug. 19 on charges of felon in possession of a firearm and shooting into a dwelling.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the arrest affidavit for the initial charges alleged that a bullet went through a neighbor’s window and was discovered in that house. Tenney was also allegedly seen with an assault rifle in her backyard.
On Sept. 16, detectives added a charge of first-degree murder against Tenney. She remains held in the Pinellas County Jail.
