Charlotte Flair Reveals The Crazy Amount She Spends on Her Robes

Charlotte Flair’s elaborate and expensive ring gear is a key part of her “Queen” persona, and in a new interview, she has revealed just how much she invests in looking the part. The reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion confirmed that her iconic robes can cost up to $15,000 each.

Speaking on the “Post Run High” podcast, Flair was candid about the cost of her custom-made attire. She explained that it is a personal investment she makes in her character.

The Price of Royalty

Charlotte Flair is known for her spectacular, sequin- and feather-adorned robes, which are a direct tribute to her legendary father, Ric Flair. She explained that the cost of these robes has evolved along with her character and her paycheck.

“I have these ridiculous peacock feather robes, which I’ll be working forever to afford them because I like a new one every show,” Flair said with a laugh. “[They cost] usually around $15,000. But I believe the more that you invest in yourself, the most you invest in your character, the fans invest in you.”

She continued, “I think my first robe was like $4,000, but as I’ve evolved and the character has evolved, [my budget has gotten bigger]. My paycheck [has evolved].” She noted that this is her own money, not a production expense. “These aren’t production, this is my money! But it’s worth every penny,” she said.

A Family Tradition

The tradition of wearing elaborate robes was made famous by her father, the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. His custom-made robes from the 1980s and 90s are some of the most iconic and valuable pieces of wrestling memorabilia in history. Ric Flair has stated that his robes cost an average of $11,000 each, with his most expensive one, from his WrestleMania 24 retirement match, costing $15,000.

His robes have become highly sought-after collector’s items. His famed “Jungle robe” recently sold at an auction for an incredible $103,700. Charlotte is continuing this family tradition of excellence and presentation, and her own collection of robes is becoming a legendary part of her own Hall of Fame-worthy career.
