Man allegedly strangled his infant sister with charging cable
LEESBURG, Va. (TCN) — Police recently arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of strangling his infant sister, who is in critical condition.
On the morning of Sept. 17, the Leesburg Police Department responded to a report of an infant not breathing, and the baby was transported to a hospital. According to WTTG-TV, a charging cable was found around the victim’s neck.
Police reportedly identified the suspect as the victim’s brother, Alvaro Mejia Ayala. He allegedly fled the scene on foot before officers arrived, but authorities later located him on Meadows Lane Northeast at around 3:18 p.m.
Per court documents reviewed by WTTG, Mejia Ayala allegedly told a friend he was “playing with his sister and may have killed her.”
