Bears Announce Several Starters Will Miss Sunday’s Game

After a big 31-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys last weekend, the Chicago Bears will look to keep the momentum rolling against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

On Friday, the Bears released their final injury report for the team’s Week 4 showdown.

Starters Grady Jarrett (DT) , and Darnell Wright (RT), will both miss their first games of the season, while TJ Edwards (LB) is set to miss his second consecutive game with a hamstring injury.

The team’s injury report has Jarrett listed as out with a knee injury, while Wright is listed as out with an elbow injury.

Neither player practiced on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

Additionally, the team has Kyler Gordon (DB), Colston Loveland (TE), and D’Andre Swift (RB) all listed as questionable, with all three limited in practice on Friday.

As the Bears look to build on their Week 3 win against the Cowboys, the expectation is that second-round pick Shemar Turner will slot in at DT in Jarrett’s absence, and Theo Benedet will slot in at RT in Wright’s absence.

Turner played 23 snaps last week against the Cowboys, while Benedet played 11.

While speaking to members of the press following the team’s Week 3 win, Chicago coach Ben Johnson praised Benedet for stepping up when the team needed it most:

“We saw a continuation of training camp, which is a player that’s going to battle his tail off. He commits to the fundamentals, he plays with the low pad level, he comes off the ball, he’s willing to strike you. As a pass protector, he continues to get better every single day.”

Following Sunday’s game the team will head into a bye week, giving Jarrett, Wright, and Edwards an additional week to recover before a Week 6 clash with the Washington Commanders.
