Michigan LDS Church Shooting: Multiple Victims, Fire Reported
There are multiple victims after an active shooter was reported at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan Sunday morning, according to a post on Facebook from the Grand Blanc Police department.
The shooter is down and the church is on fire, the post said.
Genesee Township Fire Operations told Newsweek that the fire is at a fifth alarm, with reports of a building collapse and multiple entrapments.
Police say there is no threat to the public.
The number, nature and severity of the injuries was not immediately available.
Videos on social media show large plumes of smoke coming from the church as crews battle the fire.
A reunification site has been opened in a pavilion north of the scene, while an offsite reunification center will be opened at Trillium theater at Holly and McCandlish, the police said.
This is a breaking news story. Updates to come.
