Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Sending Prayers for Former Teammate
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for a big Week 5 matchup on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football. After winning each of their last two games, the Chiefs are now 2-2 and are looking to get above .500 for the first time this season.
While Kansas City is starting to look like a potential Super Bowl contender once again after a slow start to the season, one of the team’s former stars went down with a brutal injury in Week 4.
Tyreek Hill, the former Chiefs’ dynamic superstar wide receiver who had so much success playing alongside Mahomes, suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Miami Dolphins’ game against the New York Jets. Some have even speculated that the injury could end his career, although that is far from being a legitimate report.

All of that being said, Mahomes is clearly upset to see the injury happen to his former friend and teammate.
When speaking to the media on Thursday, Mahomes was asked about Hill. He shared that he has reached out to him and offered a short quote sending prayers to the star veteran wideout.
“I talked to him a little bit,” Mahomes said. “More than anything, sending prayers his way… I know how hard he works. I’m excited to watch his comeback now. Obviously, praying for him and his family.”
Hill played with Mahomes in Kansas City from the quarterback’s rookie season through the 2021 campaign. He was then traded to the Dolphins, where he has gone on to have a lot of success.
Before going down with the knee injury, Hill had played in all four games for Miami this season, catching 21 passes for 265 yards and a touchdown. Throughout his career, he has totaled 819 receptions for 11,363 yards and 83 touchdowns.

Mahomes has played well this season for the Chiefs. In the four games Kansas City has played, he has completed 61.3 percent of his pass attempts for 939 yards, seven toouchdowns, and just one interceptions. He has also picked up 130 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground.
Hopefully, Hill is able to make a full recovery and get back on the field to continue his career. Mahomes still clearly cares about his former teammate and will be sending prayers his way throughout the recovery process.
