Josh Allen’s Message to Stefon Diggs After Patriots Upset Bills Revealed
The Buffalo Bills were favored to beat the New England Patriots on Sunday evening, but Mike Vrabel’s team pulled off the upset, taking a 23-20 win to improve to 3-2.
Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is slowly earning respect around the league, and after Sunday’s performance, he’ll likely move up in the ranks when it comes to the league’s top signal-callers.
Both the Bills and Eagles were undefeated going into the weekend, and both lost, leaving no undefeated teams left in the NFL this season.
And while New England’s upset was a story in itself, another one almost equally as compelling was the postgame intercaction between former teammates in Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs.
Diggs and Allen have a rich history together. The two had one of the most dynamic quarterback-receiver relationships from 2020 to 2023. Diggs was traded from the Bills to the Houston Texans in 2024 amid reports of rising tension between the two.
After the game, Allen and Diggs shared a special moment. The two embraced and were spotted on camera hugging and saying, “Love you,” and, “Love you, too,” as shared by Bills reporter Jenna Cottrell, seemingly ending any speculation of bad blood between the two.

“We just played sloppy,” Allen said of why the Bills lost. “Not going to win a football game turning the ball over three times in our red zone. Gave them one in their red zone. That’s just bad football, and we just did not play good tonight.”
He also candidly talked about the turnover problems in the game, stating: “We shouldn’t even have been in the game with three turnovers.”
Allen finished the game completing 22 of 31 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the Bills with 53 rushing yards on nine carries.
The 20 points were also the fewest scored by the Bills in a home game since they only put 14 points on the board in Week 6 of the 2023 season against the New York Giants, according to ESPN research. The game also ended Buffalo’s streak of scoring 20 or more points in 16 straight home games.
The Bills are set to face the Atlanta Falcons next Monday, while the Patriots’ next game is against the New Orleans Saints next Sunday.
