Buccaneers Get Unfortunate Chris Godwin Injury Update Ahead of Week 6
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are becoming one of the most talked-about teams in the NFL. Their 4-1 record has been put together with gutsy performances on both sides of the ball.

Baker Mayfield continues to trash talk, but that trash talk is being backed up by his play. The defense is continuing to make big stops. However, the team has been hit with some pretty sizeable injuries.
Tristan Wirfs and Chris Godwin have missed multiple weeks due to injuries, and it appears that Godwin has yet to fully recover.
According to Jeremy Fowler, Godwin is not expected to play against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. He is suffering from a fibula injury that could be directly tied into his recovery from the dislocated ankle that caused multiple other instances of damage.
This is a big loss for this Buccaneers offense. Mike Evans also remains out, so the team is missing two of its most proven veteran receivers.

The good news is the Buccaneers still have two young upstarts who are leading the way. Breakout rookie Emeka Egbuka continues to shine and has picked up 445 yards through five games thus far.
Dual-threat running back Bucky Irving is also catching passes and has picked up 193 yards through five games. The Buccaneers would benefit from having Godwin in the lineup, but his injury may have lingered longer than expected.
Evans suffered a hamstring injury that could keep him out for an extended period.
The Buccaneers look like a team that is ready for a deep playoff push, but they may want to explore a trade for another wide receiver before the November deadline comes. Evans and Godwin could return healthy soon, but they are also aging wide receivers who may not recover the same way they used to.
