Top WWE SmackDown Star Turns Heel in Big Storyline Twist
As WWE draws closer to “Saturday Night’s Main Event,” a huge heel turn shocked fans on “Friday Night SmackDown.” After Tiffany Stratton was attacked by Giulia following her win over Kiana James, Jade Cargill ran down to fight the WWE Women’s United States Champion off. While Cargill and Stratton initially embraced, “The Storm” attacked the WWE Women’s Champion to solidify her heel turn.
Cargill has fallen short in her bid to take the top female prize on the “SmackDown” brand more than once. Play-by-play commentator Michael Cole suggested that frustration had been building within Cargill, leading to the surprising turn of events. Cargill explained her actions following a commercial break.

Jade Cargill Explains Heel Turn
Cargill was interviewed by Cathy Kelley backstage. Kelley asked Cargill if she was worried about the potential consequences following her actions. Cargill said her biggest mistake was thinking patience was rewarded. She vowed to take the WWE Women’s Championship.
This is the first time Cargill has been portrayed as a heel on WWE TV. She thrived in the role during her time performing under the AEW banner. She even had a lengthy run with the AEW TBS Championship. Along the way, Cargill also formed her own faction. Time will tell if similar success will follow Cargill in the role this go-around.
A report from WrestleVotes revealed WWE is planning to book Cargill in another title match against Stratton for “Saturday Night’s Main Event” on Nov. 1. Many have been wondering if WWE will end up giving Cargill her first world title reign in professional wrestling before the end of 2025. That question may be answered in Salt Lake City.
Stratton has reigned as the WWE Women’s Champion since the Jan. 3 episode of “Friday Night SmackDown.” Cargill is hoping to cut Stratton’s reign short of a full year.
