The Los Angeles Lakers secured their first win of the NBA season on Friday night when they defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 128-110, led by superstar point guard Luka Doncic.
Doncic recorded 43 points on Tuesday night in a loss against the Golden State Warriors and against Minnesota he topped it by putting up 49 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists, while LeBron James remains sidelined with a sciatic issue.
Doncic’s performances was quite historic as he not only became the first player in NBA history to record 40-plus points, five-plus rebounds, and five-plus assists in the first two games of the regular season, but he also recorded the most total points through the Lakers first two games in franchise history.
However, on Saturday evening, ahead of the teams matchup against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, Doncic unexpectedly ended up on the injury report with a questionable tag due to left finger sprain, according to Lakers beat reporter Mike Trudell.

Anytime a superstar appears on the injury report, it can be concerning, especially just two games into the season.
The positive, however, is that Luka Doncic finished Friday night’s game without any limitations and appeared in great spirits afterward.
This likely signals that the Lakers are taking a precautionary approach, ensuring Doncic feels his absolute best whenever he steps on the court, as he remains the centerpiece of the franchise for years to come.
Doncic was traded to the Lakers midway through last season in one of the most shocking deals in NBA history, with the Dallas Mavericks sending him to Los Angeles in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and draft compensation.
He helped lead the Lakers to the playoffs, where they fell in the first round. In the offseason, the team quickly made it a priority to lock up the 27-year-old Slovenian superstar, and Doncic signed an extension with the franchise.
