WWE Vacates Another Championship Due to Injury
WWE has vacated another singles title. During Tuesday’s episode of “NXT,” Sol Ruca made the decision to relinquish the WWE Women’s Speed Championship due to an injury. Ruca mentioned focusing on healing and seemingly threw a subtle dig at her tag team partner, Zaria, for losing her NXT North American Championship at “Halloween Havoc 2025.” Zaria stormed out of “NXT” general manager Ava’s office following Ruca’s comment.
There has been much discussion within the professional wrestling industry over the legitimacy of Ruca’s injury. Insiders Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer of “Wrestling Observer Radio” have suspected that Ruca either isn’t injured or it was a minor tweak that WWE is using as part of a storyline. The building rift between Ruca and Zaria may lend credence to that theory.

WWE’s Vacant Title Situation
This isn’t the first time WWE has vacated a big singles title. Seth Rollins suffered a shoulder injury during his “Crown Jewel” match with Cody Rhodes. As a result, the company ran a major storyline swerve that saw Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman of The Vision oust Rollins from the faction. WWE stripped Rollins of the World Heavyweight Championship the following week on “Monday Night Raw.”
CM Punk and Jey Uso have earned their title match for the vacant gold at “Saturday Night’s Main Event.” As for the WWE Women’s Speed Championship, a tournament will be held to crown a new titleholder. Time will tell if Zaria will participate in the tourney and possibly win the title to further the animosity with Ruca.
