Trump Admin Says It Will Pay SNAP Benefits in Full in November: What to Know
The Trump administration said in a memo Friday that it is working to comply with a federal court order requiring full November food Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments.
The Agriculture Department (USDA) said it would “complete the processes necessary” to make funds for SNAP available later in the day, according to a memo obtained first by Politico and posted to X by members of the Washington, D.C., media.
The announcement followed the administration’s request Friday for an emergency stay from the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals.
Payments have been halted as the federal government shutdown drags into its second month, with the USDA saying in a notice on its website that “the well has run dry” and no benefits would be issued on November 1.
