Is ‘Landman’ Season 3 Happening? Paramount Just Outlined Show’s Future

After the show’s best season yet, Paramount has finally outlined the future of “Landman.”

Co-created by Taylor Sheridan, it stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, an abrasive landman for an oil company in West Texas.

With viewership of the “Landman” Season 2 premiere almost three times that of the Season 1 debut episode, according to Paramount, it was a straightforward green light for the streamer.

It says in a post on its official website: “Paramount+ really only had one choice: Bring back the Paramount+ original hit series, starring Billy Bob Thornton, for a third season.”

Yes, “Landman” has been renewed for Season 3 following a record-breaking previous season. In its first two days on the service, the “Landman” Season 2 became the most-watched premiere for any Paramount+ original series ever, with more than 9.2 million streaming views.

What Will ‘Landman’ Season 3 be about?

There is no official synopsis for “Landman” Season 3, but one of the show’s actors has outlined what to expect.

Ali Larter, who plays Angela Norris in the show, spoke on the red carpet of the Critics’ Choice Awards on January 4th, 2026, via Collider, saying:

“[Sheridan] definitely leaned into the family this year, but we know the tones of our show. He knows when he wants Angela to come in and deliver a laugh, a breath of fresh comedy, and then move into other dramatic scenes. So, I don’t think the formula is going to change.”

Paramount, meanwhile, says, “We don’t yet have details on what Landman Season 3 will be about. But…we’re pretty sure it’ll be nothing short of epic.”
