Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith Reacts to Another 5-Star WR Leaving for Notre Dame
Ohio State has an embarrassment of riches at the wide receiver position, led by elite pass catching weapon Jeremiah Smith.
Since arriving in Columbus as the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit in 2024, Smith has put up ridiculous numbers as the Buckeyes’ leading wide receiver. Through 29 games, the Florida native has 163 catches for 2,558 yards and 27 touchdowns.
Smith is expected to be an early first-round NFL draft pick in 2027. But for now, he’s focused on one more collegiate season with Ohio State in 2026.
Smith’s talent buries some otherwise exceptional talent on the Ohio State WR depth chart. Mylan Graham, who committed to Ryan Day’s program as a five-star recruit in the 2024 class (according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings), notched limited production through his first two collegiate seasons in Columbus.

Graham took a redshirt in 2024, appearing in just four games. This past season, the Indiana native reeled in just six catches for 93 yards — serving as a depth piece behind Smith, Carnell Tate and Brandon Inniss.
Graham announced his entrance into the 2026 NCAA transfer portal last week. And on Tuesday, he announced his commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Smith reacted to this move on social media, reposting the news on his Instagram story.

Graham is the second Ohio State wide receiver to leave for Notre Dame. On Monday, five-star true freshman WR Quincy Porter announced his decision to commit to Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish for the 2026 college football season.
Porter, like Graham, was also buried on the Ohio State depth chart despite his elite upside. The consensus top-five wide receiver recruit had just four catches for 59 yards through five games with the Buckeyes in 2025.
While these transfer portal losses are not insignificant, Ohio State has some strong incoming talent on the way. The Buckeyes secured a commitment from five-star wide receiver recruit Chris Henry Jr., one of the top overall prospects in the 2026 class.
