Snowfall and Good Resorts Await Skiers in the Country

Thanks to significant snowfall and sustained cold weather, good ski resorts await skiers in Hungary, with five of them now open.

Data published by the ski resorts show that skiers can expect real alpine conditions at the Mátraszentistván Ski Park. The slopes are covered with 40-65 centimeters of high-quality snow, and the fresh snow and frost create ideal conditions for skiing. Currently, eight ski slopes are in operation, with a continuous slope system approximately 3.4 kilometers long awaiting guests, who are served by eight ski lifts with a total capacity of 6,600 people per hour.

At the Síaréna Vibe Park in Eplény (near Lake Balaton), the slopes are covered with 19-39 centimeters of snow, five lifts are in operation, and the length of the operating slopes exceeds seven kilometers.

In Visegrád, in the Duna-Ipoly National Park, there are five lifts operating at the Nagyvillám Ski Resort, and according to the resort’s website, the nearly two-kilometer-long slopes are covered with 25 centimeters of snow.

One lift is operating at the Sátoraljaújhely ski resort (northern Hungary), with 25-30 centimeters of snow on Magas Hill and two kilometers of ski slopes. Zemplén Adventure Park’s  ski school is also open and the toboggan run is free of charge.
