Calif. man who killed girlfriend in front of their kids found guilty of murder
DALY CITY, Calif. (TCN) — A man has been found guilty of first‑degree murder, felony child abuse, and misdemeanor child endangerment in connection with the 2023 death of his girlfriend.
KRON reports Romier Taguiam Narag, 30, was convicted of murder for killing 27-year-old Frances Kendra Lucero. The outlet also reports that sentencing enhancements for the use of a firearm were found true.
Narag fatally shot Lucero as she ran away from him toward their home on March 6, 2023, according to KRON. They were reportedly returning home from dinner and got into an argument in the driveway. The district attorney said the couple’s 3-year-old and 4-year-old children witnessed the shooting, according to KRON. Narag’s brother then reportedly wrestled the gun away from him.
Narag was charged with murder and child endangerment and booked into jail, KTVU reported at the time.
A GoFundMe set up by Lucero’s family said, “Frances dedicated her life to her children and always spread the love she had to share. She was the most genuine, thoughtful, loyal, and ambitious woman we’ve all been blessed to know. Frances was that friend that would help you celebrate good times and provide nothing but support during the bad times.”
Narag is scheduled to be sentenced on March 5, per KRON.
